Mai 1931 ebenda) war ein italienischer Bildhauer, dessen herausragende Bedeutung fr die moderne Plastik und Skulptur von Kunsthistorikern immer wieder besttigt wird, wenngleich sein Werk bislang noch kaum bekannt ist. Ausgehend von der Romantik des spten 19. Jahrhunderts, widmete sich Wildt schon frh einer von der Secession und dem Jugendstil geprgten Bildhauerei, die sich durch komplexe Symbolismen und eine beinahe gotische Definition ihrer Formen charakterisieren lsst. Die uerst glatt geschliffenen Oberflchen verleihen seinen Marmorbsten eine absolute Reinheit und plastische Integritt, die er mit dem dramatischen Gefhl einer geradezu paroxystischen Intensitt zu vereinen sucht. In dieser Hinsicht steht Wildt an der Schwelle zum Expressionismus, der sich vor allem im schmerzhaft erschtterten Ausdruck seines Selbstportrts von 1908 zeigt.
