Long ago and far away a people who had not known violence in millennia met to consider a major threat looming on the horizon. After long discussion they reached a trembling agreement to accept the unthinkable. With that the watcher groups were born. Their tasks were to monitor a multitude of experiments designed to produce a race of warriors capable of meeting the future threat to the civilized universe By the time this tale unfolds most of those experiments have been unable to produce results that were not total failures. Of the few remaining races only one - an improbable one at that - has, as yet, escaped the almost inevitable fate that occurs once a race gains the power to destroy itself on a grand scale. At that point all seem unable to resist Part I is the history of that race and the Observers tasked with its monitoring. Part II is the result of that race reaching the danger point and passing it. Now it has the task of discovering their potential, overcoming their natural tendencies toward destruction and proving themselves capable of providing benevolent protection for an entire universe It is a tale about a group that can't resist meddling - the observers want this race to succeed in spite of their instructions. There is another group that can't allow that racial success - and tries for millennia to keep it from happening. Finally we have a couple who can't resist one another - or the inevitable fate toward which their unusual gifts drive them. Can they find time from their sexual fantasies to save the human race? Here's a hint. This author doesn't write tragedies.
