Synopsis "Better Man"

When a heinous crime occurs in the otherwise quiet town of Little Creek, Sheriff Tim Collie must call upon the allegiance of a most unlikely ally: his prisoner who has just received the death sentence. Billy Maple is a prodigy despite the fact that his field is theft. His latest trick, a daring daylight train robbery, makes him a rich man. Though when one of his crew is caught and turns on him, Billy lands in the Little Creek jail cell not knowing that this misfortune will render him a deputy. Meanwhile a mysterious stranger is stalking the hillsides, leaving in his wake a string of catastrophic violence as relentless as it is unexplainable. It isn't long before he discovers the quaint town and his horror is again unleashed. His arrival will mark a personal tragedy for Collie, forcing him to question his code and make a deal with Billy, the very man he just put behind bars and the only man alive that has seen the stranger's face. As the killer begins his exodus across the land, Collie and Billy must give chase. Thus begins an odyssey where both men must confront their pasts and trust one another to survive. Better Man examines the inherent nature of people, the shaping power of cataclysmic events, and the very essence of what it means to be good.
