Synopsis "Böcklin. Monografie (in German)"

Faune, Nymphen und Göttergestalten: Fritz von Ostini porträtiert in dieser Monografie von 1827 den deutschen Künstler Arnold Böcklin. Detailgenau und anschaulich hebt er Aspekte und Meilensteine aus der Schaffenswelt des Malers hervor und diskutiert das Lebenswerk eines der wichtigsten Vertreter des deutschen Symbolismus. Untermalt werden Ostinis Ausführungen durch zahlreiche Abbildungen von Böcklins ausdrucksstarken Kunstwerken. Für diese Ausgabe wurde das Original aufwändig aus Frakturschrift übertragen und sorgfältig durchgesehen. Fritz von Ostini (1861-1927) war ein deutscher Redakteur, Schriftsteller und Humorist. Neben seiner redaktionellen Tätigkeit bei den "Münchner Neusten Nachrichten" verfasste er einige Künstler-Monographien, unter die auch die vorliegende Arbeit über Arnold Böcklin fällt.
