The field is Earth's living connective medium - the structural condition that makes genuine relationship possible between organisms, species, and environments. Before the Younger Dryas catastrophe twelve thousand years ago, this field was directly perceptible. Coherence spots were the most obviously alive points in any landscape. Field beings moved through the ambient medium of daily life as unremarkable features of an inhabited world. That world did not disappear. It became imperceptible.
