Synopsis "Death Deferred"

The words BREAKING NEWS crawled across the news ticker on the television monitor in the waiting room of the Campbell Hematologic Malignancies infusion lab. This bold announcement was never the surprise news stations aimed for but it was followed by the phrase "Liam Conner named the new ambassador to Razor Prime by the interstellar Razor Collective.". My picture appeared. I went numb. I took several breaths to pull myself out of the horror in my head. I stammered. "Imagine how pissed off President Gunderson will be when finds out the Razors proclaimed a death sentence on a dying opponent." And like that Liam Conner is forced to travel alone to a far-off planet teeming with alien creatures caught up in a culture of aggression and power where no human has lived long enough to exit the landing dock.
