Synopsis "DiVa Writes"

DiVa Writes is an eclectic and savvy collection of 37 stories. It is a candid and witty posthumous publication, sometimes based on the author's life, often written without regard for political correctness. It promises to engage the reader by taking a comical peek at such topics as childhood, dieting, television, male/female relationships, celebrities, fads, romance, sex and dating, to name a few. It's a humorous, often ironic look at frustrations and situations common to most adults. Reminiscent of the works of the late Erma Bombeck, and today's Chelsea Handler, DiVa Writes reflects a novel exploration of life and human nature. A child of the 50s, the author often regales her readers with funny events about growing up in her hometown of Utica, NY. Her writing also tackles the trials and tribulations of modern day life as seen through the eyes of a middle-aged woman. Her writing reflects tremendous insight into her male associates. They are vigorously reviewed with humor and perhaps cynicism that captures eccentricities which surface in their behaviors. The stories are all different. Some are warm, reverent and whimsical reflecting on a time when life was simple and uncomplicated. Others are pure fantasy. The book is a time capsule of sorts, in which the reader is reminded of Mallo Cups, Bullwinkle the Moose, the Beatles, F.W. Woolworth and rubber boots with fur trim. As you read, you may find yourself walking down Memory Lane. If you want to laugh, to be challenged to think outside the box, or to enjoy a memorable story, then pick up this book. It will engage and entertain you and leave you feeling like you have seen the world in a whole new light.
