Alle derartigen Theorien, die von au en kamen, von marxistischen, idealistischen, psychoanalytischen bis hin zu modernistischen oder postmodernen, erwiesen sich als leicht widerlegbar und für Museen tatsächlich nicht anwendbar, weshalb sie auch keinen Einfluss auf Museen hatten. Diese Theorie versucht, wie von Cusanus klugerweise empfohlen, zunächst zu untersuchen, dann zu fragen und auf der Grundlage der Antworten auf die Fragen Schlussfolgerungen zu ziehen. Unsere Methode ist nicht deduktiv, sondern eher induktiv. Das ist Museologie von unten nach oben.
