Christopher Paolini was born in Southern California and has lived almost his entire life in Paradise Valley (Montana). A great lover of science fiction and fantasy, he was homeschooled by his parents and graduated from high school at the age of 15 through a correspondence course.

In 2003, at the age of nineteen, he published his first novel, Eragon, and quickly became a literary phenomenon. Christopher Paolini's books like The Inheritance Cycle (comprising Eragon and its three sequels) have sold nearly forty million copies worldwide.
