Your mind and your actions are related; one serves the desire of the other. The evil intentions of those who govern a Nation will corrupt the very land in which they live. Through tradition, culture, education and systems of belief, the DNA of a godless nation is transferred to each of its citizens and developed as iniquitous patterns. HaShem warned the children of Yisra'el not to serve the gods of the people living in the Land they were about to go in and possess, or intermarry with them; they were instructed to drive them out lest the people of the Land devour them.
