It had been a year since her husband, Jim, had died. She missed him, but never more than when she realized just how much their son had missed not having his father. In fact, Jim had promised to take Jimmy fishing the year he had gotten sick. Now as fishing season rolled around again, she knew she had to do something. It didn't matter that Jen had never fished a day in her life, or the fact that she actually hated fish - not the kind in an aquarium, rather the ones on your plate. She didn't even like tuna from a can. When she told her pastor father she was taking Jimmy on the fishing trip he'd been longing for, the man simply shook his head and promised to say a prayer. Her father seemed to think she was going to need a guardian angel. Okay, so she jackknifed their trailer, and the sandwiches she'd packed for their first meal were destroyed. It wasn't that important that she knew nothing about where or how to fish. Or, so she thought. Yes, a guardian angel was just what she needed.
