Part one encompasses the history of global surgery, relevant and impactful policy decisions affecting practice, a review of global disparites, and economic and industry-related considerations. Surgical training in LMIC is the focus of part two, including technology, simulation traning, innovation and ethical consideratons, while part three provides context for the the reader for involvement in other countries and cultures. The final and largest section discusses essentials for each area of surgery - orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, plastic and neurosurgery, and much more.
