Synopsis "Grifters"

All a grifter needs is a person with a trusting heart, or lax in their ways of life to swindle them out of their possessions. Grifters come in all walks of life-they might be clergy, truck drivers, investment counselors, entrepreneurs, or even in law enforcement. They come alongside and offer kind words and warm concern. Then, like a pickpocket, will relieve you of your hard-earned money. Grifters tells the story of how these cunning swindlers connive to create trust and respect, while absconding with the victims' money. Their connivery leaves the victim helpless and without hope of recovering what was lost. The wheels of justice are like millstones grinding wheat into flour. The wheels may turn slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine. Will each grifter pay a price for what they did? Justice comes with many faces. ALBERT VANDE STEEG was born in the Netherlands at the beginning of the Nazi occupation of Holland during World War II. He immigrated to the United States after the war, and at age 24 joined the Ontario, California Police Department where he served as a patrolman, then detective, then training officer. His work in the Detective Bureau not only uncovered corruption, but revealed how politics affect law enforcement. He served seven years as Board President of the Ontario Police Officer's Association. His efforts meeting the needs of association members earned him the moniker The Policeman's Pal. Al has been married to his sweetheart, Cindy, for over sixty years. After he left law enforcement, he started a construction firm. He devoted a month each year to missionary construction. His life was enriched by this voluntary work that took him and Cindy to seven African countries and to Brazil, Columbia, and Indonesia.
