"Want to see me pull Hellfire from behind your ear?" There's just no good way to do it. Hey, somebody had to be the Anti-Christ. That somebody just happened to be me. Ash has been on the run and hiding for thirteen years, learning to survive in a modern urban jungle while hiding his true nature from those around him. He is an Eternal, one of only five ever to exist, with the ability to bend reality to his needs so long as it doesn't interfere with free will. Unfortunately, the universe has a pretty strict interpretation of what interferes with free will, including virtually anything that other people might notice, leaving him often relying on his wits more than his abilities. Ash has just started college at UCLA, deciding to put down some roots in the pursuit of a normal life - and out of a longing for the regular meals he can get in the cafeteria as a student rather than as a homeless teenager on the run. It is in college that Ash meets his first crush, Rachel, a Goth girl into the occult who introduces him to her circle of friends, making him part of a group for the first time in his life. Everything was going well until Ash tried to impress Rachel during an occult ritual the group tried to perform, unintentionally releasing a plague and infecting much of Los Angeles. Now, with his friends falling victim to the contagion and the plague spreading, Ash sets out to find a cure with his companions, a demon adviser who looks and acts like a 19th century butler, a succubus who his father has recently sent to meddle in his life, and a trio of college Freshmen with a knack for breaking into campus buildings. The only clue they have is a book written in a language that hasn't been seen in five thousand years. And time is running out...
