One Road Out - R. S. Breed

Eight weeks after Hart's sun went out, 146 people are known to be alive.

Most of the colony is still beyond reach.

Eighteen survivors orbit above them in a station whose inhabited core can finally come down while its reserve still allows a controlled return. Then Hart faces the harder problem.

They can build one outbound road.

The rig will make it once. The departing hull will take hold of it once. There is no second attempt.

Who leaves? What stays? Which skilled hands cannot be spared? And what has to cross with them so the outside world receives not a story, but what happened, who is still there, and what they need?

Lieutenant Sarah Bishop and Hart's survivors have one road out.

Using it will cost them.

One Road Out is Book Three of The Chosen Dark, a character-driven hard science fiction trilogy set in the Fracture Cosmology universe.
