Synopsis "Panzer III (in Italian)"

Il Panzer III, (Panzerkampfwagen III) nell'esercito tedesco era Sd.Kfz. 141, fu insieme al successivo Panzer IV il carro armato medio più noto delle Panzer Division durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Fu progettato espressamente come mezzo anticarro per contrastare i veicoli blindati avversari, ruolo che ricoprì con successo almeno fino al 1942. Il Panzer III, venne continuamente migliorato nel corso del tempo con il potenziamento dell'armamento principale e della corazzatura. La versione J, dotata di un cannone da 50 mm lungo 60 calibri (L/60), fu in grado di contrastare anche mezzi più potenti. Tuttavia a partire dal 1943 il Panzer III fu progressivamente superato dall'introduzione di veicoli nemici più corazzati e dotati di armamento pesante.
