"...I tried my best to read slowly so that I savour the book, unfortunately I failed. Waiting forward to the next one." - D.Y. Jaffar "...For the safety of the readers, this book ought to come with the disclaimer: leave this book read half-way at your own risk. Unless you are Superman, you won't be able to concentrate on much else until you have read the last page of "Rain Fund". The time has come for Patterson, Ludlum, Dan Brown et al to slide over and make space at the top for Marc Brem." - Shweta Shankar for Readers' Favorite "...In the good tradition of Ludlum and Grisham. Five stars" - Aldo Levy "Action-packed, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and a gripping plot filled with twists and turns." "Autistic geniuses charting financial markets; Mobster-fuelled Ponzi schemes; sophisticated hardware viruses; spies; and a rising superpower that strives for dominance - so realistic it is frightening." Olivier Van Dijk, playboy dilettante, is on top of the world: the Rain Fund he founded, basing trading decisions on trained autistic savants, is the world's leading hedge fund. But when his best friend dies under suspicious circumstances, his world starts crumbling down, and he discovers the web of lies and crimes that lurk behind his fortune. Wong Zhuang Wei, Chinese Master-Spy, heads the unofficially-sanctioned project introducing, through ubiquitous components manufactured in China, undetectable hardware viruses into the world's computers. Just as his plan nears fruition, his cyber-conspiracy is unexpectedly discovered by an autistic mathematical genius-with his honor and legacy at stake, he goes on the hunt. Aivars Bartulis, the nefarious psychopathic head of the Latvian Mafia, rose to power due to intellect, love of violence, and a dispassionate temperament. He will do whatever it takes to stay in control of the Fund and its billions-for face-saving and for fortune. Laura Wheelan, psychiatrist and undercover FBI agent, is torn between her budding love for Olivier and her work - jeopardizing the investigation into the fund, and delivering her into the very hands of the fiendish animals she tried to rid the world of. Joshua Applebee, ex-SEAL soldier and father of a young autistic genius working at the Fund, cares only about his son's welfare. But when his son discovers a widespread cyber-conspiracy, he will ineluctably be pulled into the very world he wanted to protect his son from, and chaos he hoped to never have to see again. Their fates precariously balanced, their paths converging - all resting on the shoulders of a socially-awkward, young autistic man...
