In the quiet border town of Briar Hollow, Texas, the sky fractures.

An intelligence known only as the Thorned Witness is claiming territory.

As leaders fall under possession, plagues carve branching patterns beneath human skin, and cryptid colonies migrate across the plains, the sky itself becomes part of an expanding crown over North America.

Civilization begins to tremble.

Governments collapse into confusion.

And the only resistance forming at the center of the first fracture is a small group inside a museum that refuses to kneel.

But if Rowan and Maeve cannot break the first anchor in time, the Witness will finish marking the continent.
