Something ancient is spreading beneath the American heartland.

In Briar Hollow, Texas, Rowan Rusk and Maeve Calder discover a pattern no one else can see-fractures in the earth forming enormous antler-shaped geometry across multiple states. At first the cracks seem like natural fault lines, but satellite images reveal something far more disturbing: the fractures are aligning with precision, building a continental network centered directly beneath the Briar Hollow Museum of the Unseen.

As cult gatherings begin forming along the glowing fissures, believers call the phenomenon "The Threshold." They kneel beside the cracks, convinced a new world is about to rise from the land itself.

But Rowan and Maeve uncover the truth.

The fractures are not random disasters. They are anchors, stabilizing an ancient entity known as the Thorned Witness-an intelligence older than civilization that is learning to inhabit the continent itself. With each synchronized pulse of the network, gravity shifts, cities destabilize, and the boundary between worlds begins to tear.
