Synopsis "The Last Step"

It is 2059 and life is good for Julian Bock. Just a few years earlier he inherited a successful advertising company and now at the age of thirty two he is enjoying his bachelor life; until one day he is diagnosed with an incurable brain condition. Faced with a certain death, his only alternative is to be put in the state of hibernation until the cure is available. As he is awakened years later, he finds out that his condition has been cured, but the world is not how he left it. Nothing is the same - nothing and no-one. Eventual effects of climate change combined with proliferation of technology forced mankind to take over its own evolutionary process and blur the line between the human and the machine. As Humanity struggles to define its identity, Julian finds himself in the middle of a debate about the future of the Human Species, where he is not only a witness, but an active participant. As he gets drawn into a political chess game, Julian finds out that the amazing possibilities that technology offers, have a price that he is not ready to pay. Assisted by a beautiful psychiatrist who has been assigned to help him recover, Julian has some tough choices to make. Life is not what it used to be; neither is he, neither is anything else.
