Joe Tracz is an American writer and playwright known for his work in theater and television. He is the author of the libretto for the musical "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical" (2019), based on Rick Riordan's novel, and "Be More Chill" (2019), an adaptation of Ned Vizzini's novel. Both musicals belong to the musical theater genre and have been presented on Broadway.

On television, Tracz has worked as a writer and producer on series such as "A Series of Unfortunate Events" (2017-2019) and "Dash & Lily" (2020). He is also the author of the book "The Incomplete History of Secret Organizations: An Utterly Unreliable Account of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events" (2018), which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the aforementioned series.
