Unresolved India
Sandeep Chavan (Author) · Gyrus Vision · Paperback
India’s future opportunities may not be hidden only in technologies yet to be invented, industries yet to emerge or markets yet to be discovered.
Some may already be visible in what still does not work well enough.
A farmer produces successfully but loses value after harvest. A small manufacturer cannot access the tooling or testing required to move upward. Infrastructure is built but maintenance remains weak. Families travel long distances for healthcare. Water is supplied but lost through inefficient systems. Waste is collected without becoming a functioning resource economy. Districts produce people, resources and demand while much of the resulting value is created elsewhere.
These are usually described as problems.
But what if they are also information?
In Unresolved India, Sandeep Chavan examines the unfinished systems beneath India’s development and asks a different economic question:
What capability would have to exist for this problem to be resolved well?
The book does not assume that every unmet need is a market or that every problem should become a business. Instead, it distinguishes carefully between unresolved need, effective demand and viable productive opportunity.
Its central movement is:
Persistent Domestic Delta → Effective Demand → Required Capability → Delivery Architecture → Productive Participation → Resolution → New Economic Capacity
Across agriculture beyond the farm gate, the missing manufacturing middle, infrastructure operation, healthcare and care, water and waste, energy efficiency, climate adaptation and district-level enterprise, the book looks for the capabilities that must exist between need and consequence.
The deeper argument is not simply about creating more firms or more jobs. It is about creating productive systems capable of resolving real requirements while leaving greater capability behind.
Workers learn. Suppliers deepen. Institutions improve. Enterprises upgrade. Districts specialise. Maintenance becomes professional. New economic pathways become credible.
This is the third volume in The Pathways to India 2047, following India 2047 - The Question Before the Dream and The Aspiration Economy.
Book 1 asked what India is trying to become.Book 2 asked where the aspirations of millions of people will go.Book 3 asks where additional productive pathways might actually come from. Not by predicting which industries will win. Not by promising millions of jobs. But by looking carefully at what India still needs to become capable of doing. Because the future may be hidden partly inside the work that remains unfinished.
