Living in Hayward, California, Libby has always found safety in the rhythm of her family's life. It's where she feels safe, enjoying the annual trips, the summer days and Easter dinners. But there is something else festering, something which erupts in an argument between her parents one day, ending with her father shouting "Divorce Me!"

The silence that follows is louder than any argument, and Libby withdraws from her own self, her own sense of living.

As Libby navigates those confusing, ugly words, she quickly learns that secrets are heavy burdens to carry, and that not all burdens should be shared. But there is a silver lining in every tragedy, and after going through plenty of them, Libby finds that even in all this ugliness, there is still some goodness the world has to offer.
