Synopsis "El Naufragio del Zefiro (in Spanish)"

. A partir de 7 años.

Chris Van Allsburg is a renowned American author and illustrator, born on June 18, 1949 in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. He studied sculpture at the University of Michigan and earned a Master of Fine Arts at the Rhode Island School of Design. Although he began his career as a sculptor, he soon turned to illustration and children's literature, where he achieved great success.

His artistic style is distinctive for its use of chiaroscuro and perspective, giving his illustrations a mysterious and magical air. His first book, The Garden of Abdul Gasazi (1979), was a finalist for the Caldecott Medal. He later won this prestigious award twice: in 1982 for Jumanji and in 1986 for The Polar Express. Both works were adapted into films, increasing his global fame.

Van Allsburg's stories often blend the everyday with the fantastic, inviting readers to use their imagination. Throughout his career, he has created more than 20 books, leaving a lasting legacy in children's literature. In addition to writing and illustrating, he has worked as an executive producer on film adaptations of his books. He lives in Rhode Island with his wife.
