Hijo de un ladron de tumbas, el joven Dr. Black estudia en la prestigiosa Academia de Medicina de Filadelfia, donde desarrolla una hipotesis poco convencional: que las bestias mitologicas de leyendas y folclore, como sirenas, minotauros o satiros eran, de hecho, los ancestros evolutivos de la humanidad. E.B. Hudspeth is an American writer and artist with a diverse background in visual arts. He grew up in Colorado and lived in various states across the United States, working for nearly a decade as a snow and ice sculptor. His passion for the arts led him to travel around the country and, eventually, to Pietrasanta, Italy, where he dedicated himself to marble sculpture.

During his stay in Italy, Hudspeth began to develop anatomical designs of imaginary beings, which culminated in his most recognized work: The Resurrectionist (2013). This book, which combines elements of horror and fantasy, presents the supposed biography of Dr. Spencer Black, a fictional 19th-century surgeon obsessed with mythological creatures.

Es un libro físicamente hermoso, desde la portada hasta cada página ilustrada. En cuanto a la historia, ufff, QUE PEDAZO DE LIBRO!! El como te relatan la biografía del doctor y las cartas, te permiten sumergirte de pleno en este mundo loco, oscuro y obsesivo. En serio agradezco que no sea una historia real porque hasta me dio escalofríos en algunas partes, pero no pude soltarlo ni un minuto, valió cada peso
