John Wagner (born in 1949 in Pennsylvania, USA) is a prolific British comic book writer, known for his influence on British comics. Although born in the United States, he moved to Scotland at the age of twelve. He began his career at D.C. Thomson & Co. in the late sixties and, together with Pat Mills, created the iconic character Judge Dredd for the magazine 2000 AD in 1976.

Among his most notable works are "Judge Dredd" (1976), "Strontium Dog" (1980), and "Robo-Hunter" (1978), all in the science fiction genre. Additionally, he co-wrote "The Thirteenth Floor" (1984) and "The Last American" (1990) with Alan Grant. His graphic novel "A History of Violence" (1997) was adapted into a film by David Cronenberg.

Carlos Sánchez Ezquerra (Ibdes, Zaragoza, España, 12 de noviembre de 1947 – Andorra la Vella, 1 de octubre de 2018) fue un influyente dibujante de cómics cuyas creaciones dejaron una marca duradera en la historieta británica e internacional. Durante sus primeros años, trabajó en España dibujando westerns y relatos de guerra, hasta que en 1973 consiguió abrirse camino en el mercado británico.

En Reino Unido, Ezquerra ganó reconocimiento por títulos como Rat Pack, Major Eazy y El Mestizo. Fue llamado para diseñar visualmente al icónico personaje del futuro policía‑juez que sería posteriormente conocido como Juez Dredd (Judge Dredd) para la revista 2000 AD. A lo largo de su carrera co‑creó ese personaje y otros como Strontium Dog – un cazarrecompensas mutante en un universo de ciencia ficción.

Aunque su obra principal se desarrolló en el ámbito británico, Ezquerra trabajó también en el mercado estadounidense y de franquicias internacionales, incluyendo portadas para la rama británica de Marvel UK y en proyectos ligados a la licencia de Star Wars —publicados bajo Marvel— que le permitieron colaborar con una mayor audiencia global.

Ezquerra se caracterizó por un trazo potente, diseños de personajes memorables y ambientaciones de ciencia ficción y acción con gran impacto visual. A pesar de que su nombre es más asociado al cómic británico, su influencia permeó en todo el medio. Falleció tras una lucha contra el cáncer de pulmón, pero dejó un legado artístico que sigue siendo venerado por generaciones de lectores y creadores de cómic.
