Synopsis "Girl With Curious Hair (Norton Paperback Fiction) "

David Foster Wallace's debut novel, The Broom of the System, provoked comparisons to Pynchon, Coover, DeLillo, and Tom Robbins for its intellectual reach and ambition and antic spirit, and marked him as a young writer to watch. The stories in his first collection of short fiction, Girl with Curious Hair, represent an early flowering of post-postmoderism: visions of the world that reimagine reality with the eerily compelling presence of a holograph and the up-to-the-second feeling of the most advanced art.

David Foster Wallace (Ithaca, New York, February 21, 1962 – Claremont, California, September 12, 2008) was an American writer and professor, known for his dense style and satirical analysis of contemporary culture. His work includes novels, short stories, and essays that explore the complexities of modern society.

Among his most notable works are "Infinite Jest" (1996), a postmodern novel considered by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2006; "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men" (1999), a collection of stories; and "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again" (1997), a compilation of essays. His posthumous novel, "The Pale King" (2011), was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2012.
