Ikram Antaki (Damascus, July 9, 1948 – Mexico City, October 31, 2000) was a Syrian writer, anthropologist, and philosopher who settled in Mexico in 1975. She studied comparative literature, social anthropology, and ethnology of the Arab world at the University of Paris VII. Throughout her career, she published 29 books in Spanish, French, and Arabic, addressing topics of philosophy, politics, religion, and culture. Among her most notable works are The Spirit of Cordoba (1994), The People Who Didn't Want to Grow (1996), The Secret of God (1992), The Culture of the Arabs (1989), and Manual for the Contemporary Citizen (2000). Her work The Culture of the Arabs received the Magda Donato Award in 1989, and The Third Culture was honored with the Art Book of the Year Award in 1990.

Antaki was a prominent figure in Mexican media, collaborating on radio and television programs such as The Banquet of Plato and The Agora, where she shared her reflections on various cultural and social issues. Her style was characterized by a critical and deep look, which invited reflection and questioning of established structures.
