He is a journalist and writer. His poetry collections include: Ritual de los prójimos (1998), Máquina fantasma (2001), and Nuevos poemas italianos (2007). He has also published the novels Never Trust Me (2011) and Strange (2012), which featured illustrations by Alfonso Vargas. For eleven years, he wrote for El Comercio. He currently writes weekly columns for La República and hosts radio and television programs on Grupo RPP.
